What do you think of glass, see-through showers in RVs? You find them in large RVs, the ones with high price tags. Frankly, I would have been happy with one of these back in my younger, college days. But now that my body has. . . well, aged a bit. . . I don't think I want anyone observing me in the buff. And I don't understand why those RVers older than me — in their 70s up — would want to see their partner showering or be the object of someone else's admiration (perhaps admiration is not the right word).
Anyway, here were my thoughts from last summer as I drove in the Midwest.

I am with you Chuck. Only 66 but I feel when I shower it is a private affair and don't need any gawker's !!!
I think RV manufacturers use glass showers in order make the unit feel more "spacious". The alternative to the glass shower would be something that might lead to claustrophobia for some and make the rig less "spacious".
Boy, my first impression of your video was "what a prude". Glass showers give a more spacious feeling so you don't have that cramped feeling. We have a full size curved glass shower and love it. My wife and I are in our mid 60's and I still get turned on every time I see my wife in the buff, in our out of the shower. If you've been married to someone for many years and are truly in love with them, their body will excite you, wrinkles, flab and all, especially if you still follow thru on that excitement and keep them happy.
Chuck, I have a 38' motorhome with a glass shower and it doesn't bother me in the least, although I certainly fit your description of older and perhaps not as good to look at as I once was. Here's why it just isn't an issue: When I'm in there taking a shower, the bathroom door is closed! Nobody's watching me! It's not like the glass shower enclosure is visible from anywhere else in the motorhome, much less from outside. What kind of "rig" are you driving?!? By the way, it sounds as though you are as tired as I am of hearing the word "rig."
Chuck, you may want to check into the products advertised for those with "lack of interest" as they say. My wife & I are about to turn 70 and things have never been better. Our Montana 5th wheel came with a transparent shower enclosure and we love it. I will
leave the rest to your imagination.

When you are 70-80 and your wife/girlfriends are 21-30, you appreciate a CLEAR glass shower!...
Don't knock it 'till you try it.
Obviouisly we're talking about a "clear" glass versus translucent or opaque. My RV shower is in a separate room with the toilet and sink/vanity so clear is not a problem. My last RV had the shower and sink as part of the bedroom and that I agree should be "invisible" to the outsider. A clear shower would allow you to see whether Norman Bates is sneaking up on you. Oh yeah, that was a shower curtain Janet Leigh was behind not a glass shower.
I believe the motorhome designer's put glass shower's in to make the bathroom look larger. Plus, with the shower having a sunroof, the glass allow's more light for the bathroom. Just my 2 cent's....My husband n I like reading about your travel's and just love your article's, keep on writing....

no arguments from this 65 year old male..i don't like looking in the mirror to shave so you can imagine how i'd feel about showering with a see thru glass door...as it is i shower with the braille system with my eyes closed!
If I had one of those glass shower doors, I'd cover it with some stick-on opaque shelf paper or paint it or ... something!
It's not a problem for me, but my wife doesn't like it!
After my stint in the Air Force, you get used to a lot of things!
I think whoever said it makes it look more spacious, is probably correct.
I would think for those prices you mentioned for motoehomes, you could pick out what you want!!!!

We like the openess of the glass shower. Frankly it was the bathroom that immediately cinched the deal when we were looking for another coach. I laughingly refer to it as "The Entertainment Center". Seriously I had a new home built in 1978 and specifically wanter a window that was opaque. The builder forgot, so to make it opaque, he simply bought a roll of adhesive backed vinyl with a design etched in it and it has been perfect for all these years. Buy it and try it. Maybe only bring it up to shoulder height. Have a nice bathroom and personal privacy too.

The see thru doors don't bother me, as long as the hubby does not let guests in the RV. We r not in the shower that long anyway, conserving water.
